A Packaging Assistant Built Around the Real Package

CraftyWand AI is being built for the awkward first part of packaging design: turning a brief into a visual direction that already respects the package. The feature is not fully released yet. This page explains the intended workflow and the decisions that will remain with the designer.

Start with the brief, not a blank canvas

Describe the product, customer, mood, colors and the kind of package you want to make. You will be able to add reference images when words are not enough. The assistant will use that brief to propose a concrete direction instead of asking you to assemble every first element by hand.

The aim is a useful first draft quickly. It is not a one-click promise that a finished package will be ready for print without review.

Design for front, back and side together

Packaging is not a poster. A strong front panel can still fail when the side copy, back panel and seams are ignored. The planned assistant will arrange a connected multi-face starting point so the design begins as a package, not as a single flat marketing image.

Structure-aware suggestions can then be placed onto a real dieline, where panel order, folds and printable areas are visible.

Keep every useful part editable

The result will enter the normal CraftyWand workspace as material you can change. Move elements, replace images, rewrite text, adjust type and align the layout to your exact structure. If only one part of a direction works, keep that part and discard the rest.

This is where the assistant earns its place. It reduces setup time while leaving brand judgement and production decisions in your hands.

Move from a draft to a real package

Once a direction is worth developing, pair it with an accurate dieline and inspect it as a 3D packaging mockup. That exposes awkward seams, upside-down panels and weak side views before they become expensive production problems.

The assistant is one part of the CraftyWand workflow. The same project continues through editing, structural review and print-ready export instead of ending at a generated picture.

Use AI where it is strongest

AI assistance is most useful when you need a first direction, want to compare several visual routes, or are stuck at the beginning of a brief. It is less useful for final legal copy, exact brand language, ingredient accuracy and printer specifications.

Treat each suggestion as a fast draft from a junior creative partner. Check spelling, legibility, claims, barcodes, bleeds and print requirements yourself before production.

What you can use today

The full assistant is not yet generally available. Today you can browse the AI packaging design inspiration gallery, choose a visual direction, and build your own version with CraftyWand's existing model, dieline and 3D tools.

That makes the gallery useful now without presenting an unfinished feature as a finished service.
