Many packaging platforms had steep learning curves, fragmented workflows, limited functionality, or lacked features that should already have been standard. Simple tasks often required multiple programs, outside specialists, or expensive subscriptions that were difficult for a small business to justify.
Eventually, Sharmake found a platform that offered many of the capabilities he had been searching for. However, that experience exposed a larger concern. Sensitive customer materials and private business files appeared to be handled without the level of care that entrepreneurs should be able to expect, while access to the platform still came at a price that many small businesses could not comfortably pay month after month.
That experience became the foundation for CraftyWand.

CraftyWand is Canadian-made packaging technology built by a small Alberta-based team with a clear purpose: to make professional packaging design more accessible, capable, and affordable.
We believe advanced packaging tools should not be reserved for large corporations, experienced technical designers, or businesses with substantial software budgets. A new entrepreneur should be able to access the same level of creative and technical capability as an established brand.
CraftyWand brings essential packaging workflows together in one browser-based platform. Users can work with dielines, visualize packaging in 3D, apply artwork, review designs, create realistic mockups, and prepare files for production without moving between disconnected tools.
One of the most persistent challenges in packaging design is understanding how a flat, two-dimensional dieline will become a finished three-dimensional product. CraftyWand bridges that gap by transforming the dieline into an interactive 3D model that can be folded and unfolded in real time. Users can rotate the package, open and close it, examine its panels and flaps, and see how artwork travels across folds, edges, seams, and connected surfaces.
